The Juvenile Police of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Railways are joining forces to prevent the dangerous trend among teens known as "tagging."

Teens climb onto train roofs, cling to moving trains, and cross tracks in restricted areas in search of "thrills."

This is not extreme; it poses real threats to their lives and health: fatal injuries, amputations, electric shocks.

From April 10 to May 10, 2025, a joint prevention campaign will be launched by the Juvenile Police of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Railways.
Throughout the month:

  • we will visit schools and vocational institutions
  •
  • we will openly communicate with children
  •
  • together with experts, we will explain why railways are not a place for play!

What to do if you witness dangerous behavior by children on the railway?

If you are at the station and see children who:

  • are trying to climb onto a train
  •
  • are already on the roof
  •
  • are playing near the tracks

 Act immediately but carefully.

Notify the station duty officer or any railway staff.

Call the police (102) or emergency services (101) — professionals will respond promptly.

Warn or call out to the children who are attempting tagging or are already outside the passenger car.

Document the incident and the individuals involved — this will assist in identification and informing parents.

Be attentive to your children. Talk to them about the real risks!
