From November 25 to December 10, 2024, Ukraine is hosting a new initiative called «16 Days Against Violence», with Odessa joining in. The official opening ceremony took place yesterday in the city’s Central Park.

Participants included representatives from various departments of the Odessa City Council, organizations focused on preventing domestic violence, and local activists.

«Violence is a global issue, and everyone can be a witness to it. It is crucial to address this matter openly to prevent further incidents», - noted Elena Kytayska, head of the Social Policy Department.

During the event, specialists offered consultations to those affected by domestic violence and distributed informational materials on the topic.

Women were also presented with flowers, symbolizing unity in the fight against violence.

The main goal of the «16 Days Against Violence» campaign is to raise public awareness about domestic violence issues and ensure equal opportunities for everyone.

The organizer of the event is the Department of Social Policy of the Odessa City Council.
