Experts from Odesa City Clinical Hospital No. 10 participated in the 13th Winter Stroke School, held in Bern, Switzerland. This event brought together leading specialists from 20 countries to discuss contemporary treatment approaches and share practical experiences in managing strokes.
The School's program included the latest international guidelines for stroke treatment for 2026, analysis of real clinical cases, and hands-on training in the angiography suite and on specialized mannequins.
The training took place at the University Clinic of Bern, where sessions were held for doctors on managing patients with acute ischemic stroke and workshops on modern endovascular techniques.
Training was organized in pairs, including a neurologist and a neuroradiologist, ensuring an interdisciplinary format, which is a standard for effective operation in stroke centers worldwide.
“This experience is highly valuable for us – observing how stroke care is organized in Switzerland, interacting with colleagues from different countries, and discussing complex clinical cases. It's gratifying that foreign experts were impressed by our experience and the rapid development of stroke care in Ukraine,” stated Alexander Skrypka, head of the angiographic and interventional neuroradiology unit at Hospital No. 10.
The modern knowledge and skills acquired during this international training will be utilized by Odesa medical professionals to enhance the quality of care provided to patients.
