Last week, Odesa hosted an event dedicated to Mental Health Awareness Day, which targeted both adults and children.

This initiative was organized in observance of World Mental Health Day with support from the Odesa City Health Department and the Odesa Health Center.

During the event, family doctors, pediatricians, therapists, and psychologists provided valuable information to adult patients and parents about the significance of mental health care, offering guidance on its maintenance and self-help strategies.

If needed, doctors referred patients to the psychologists' offices established in Odesa’s medical facilities as part of the nationwide mental health program “How are you?” for free psychological assistance.

As a result of the campaign, over 550 residents received consultations, including around 450 adults and more than 100 children. Additionally, psychologists provided 115 further consultations.

To maximize outreach, mobile events were organized in public spaces such as parks and recreational areas.

All interested individuals could receive advice on maintaining and improving mental health, participate in workshops, art therapy sessions, and interactive games for children. Approximately 500 people, including over 150 children, took part in these outreach activities.
