On the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a delegation from the Odesa region had the honor of meeting with the State Commissioner for Disability Affairs of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, Mr. Arne Frankenstein.

During the meeting, as part of the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, preliminary agreements were reached on cooperation in sharing experiences in implementing inclusion and accessibility across various sectors. Special attention was given to the training of social work specialists and the creation of innovative barrier-free spaces for all segments of the population.

The German side shared valuable insights and experiences in resolving pre-trial conflicts arising from the discrimination of persons with disabilities.

Moreover, we received assurances of support in finding partners to provide the Odesa region with specialized vehicles for transporting persons with disabilities, which is extremely important for our region.

We sincerely thank Mr. Arne Frankenstein and the German side for their openness to collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the desire to work together towards creating a more inclusive and just society.
