As a result of a special operation carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service, a foreign vessel has been detained in the Black Sea for illegally transporting Ukrainian agricultural products to third countries. This cargo was stolen from temporarily occupied territories.
This was reported by the SBU.
According to sources from UP, the name of the vessel is Anka.
Investigations revealed that the detained vessel is part of Russia's "shadow" fleet used for trading stolen Ukrainian grain in other countries. At the end of 2024, this bulk carrier transported 5,000 tons of wheat from the port of Sevastopol, which was taken from temporarily occupied areas in southern Ukraine.
Reportedly, to disguise the origin of the cargo, the vessel was sailing under the flag of an Asian country.
During a search of the vessel, navigation equipment, ship documentation, and other material evidence confirming the involvement of the ship and crew in the illegal transportation scheme were confiscated.
The vessel has been arrested, and the crew has been detained. A pre-trial investigation is underway.
