In Ukraine, there have been 426 new applications from citizens for the clearance of agricultural lands under the state compensation program, with over 1,500 hectares cleared in 2025.

This information was shared during a telecast by the director of the Humanitarian Mine Clearance Center, Volodymyr Baida, as reported by Ukrinform.

"Currently, there is substantial progress in the program. We have received 426 applications covering more than 14,000 hectares of agricultural land (previously, only 3,000 hectares had been cleared in three years).

So far, 65 auctions have been held, and contracts worth a total of 835 million UAH have been signed. As for the cleared territory, over 1,500 hectares have been cleared this year," he stated.

According to Baida, 3 billion UAH were allocated for the program in 2025.

"Farmers are much more active this year. Last year, out of 85 operators, only eight participated in the auctions, whereas now around 20 are involved," Baida noted.

He added that 110 out of 235 applications submitted this year were rejected due to the lack of non-technical land surveys.
