The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has announced the establishment of a new network of startup schools, which will operate as incubators and accelerators. These are being created based on higher education institutions and research organizations, as reported by the ministry.

Members of this network will provide financial, consulting, marketing, educational, legal, and information-communication services to commercialize scientific results, create innovative products, and develop a startup ecosystem in Ukraine.

The network targets students, researchers, and young entrepreneurs who have ideas for scientific startups.

Startup schools will offer innovators:

  • expert and mentoring support;
  • access to necessary infrastructure;
  • tools for attracting funding;
  • practical opportunities for developing business skills.

The main goal of the initiative is to foster entrepreneurship related to science, commercialize research outcomes, and support technological development in Ukraine.

Currently, 23 higher education institutions have joined the network, including:

  • Kyiv Aviation Institute;
  • Kyiv Academic University;
  • Vinnytsia National Technical University;
  • Sumy State University;
  • Odesa Polytechnic;
  • Dniprovskyi Polytechnic;
  • Ukrainian Catholic University;
  • Kyiv School of Economics;
  • Lviv Polytechnic;
  • Zhytomyr Polytechnic;
  • SET University;
  • Odesa National Economic University;
  • Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv;
  • Chernivtsi National University named after Yury Fedkovych;
  • Prikarpattya National University named after Vasyl Stefanyk;
  • Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University;
  • Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic;
  • Kryvyi Rih National University;
  • Vinnytsia National Agrarian University;
  • Dniprovskyi National University named after Oles Honchar;
  • Poltava Polytechnic named after Yuriy Kondratiuk;
  • Mykolaiv National Agrarian University;
  • Institute of Electric Welding named after E.O. Paton of the NAS of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Education and Science adds that other universities and research institutions can join the initiative by filling out a questionnaire. Applications will be reviewed by the Ministry's Council for Innovation Development, and institutions will receive a response at the email address provided in the questionnaire.
