On July 13, the Black Sea coast of Odesa hosted the Ukraine club championship in aquathlon for sports veterans.
The event attracted 283 participants from various cities, including Odesa, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Bila Tserkva, Lviv, Donetsk region, Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Kryvyi Rih, Khmelnytskyi, and Kharkiv.
The swimming stage (1 km, 2 km, 4 km) took place in the coastal area - starting from «Chayka» beach (starting area) to the yacht club (Novoberihova St.) and back. The running stage (5 km, 10 km, 20 km) followed the Health Trail - from «Chayka» beach to «Zoloty Bereh» beach and back.
In the overall ranking of the absolute distance, Andriy Kushnerov from Kyiv won with a time of 46:13, followed by Serhiy Zviahin (Kyiv) with 53:18, and Odesan Petro Vasyliev finished third with 58:09.
In the «long» aquathlon (2+10 km), Odesan Vadym Maslenikov took first place with a time of 1:13:01, silver went to Kyiv resident Serhiy Chernyshov with 1:14:53, and bronze was claimed by another Kyivite Serhiy Yanhicher with 1:16:35.
In the «Standard» aquathlon (1+5 km), Andriy Pechenyi from Kyiv celebrated victory with a time of 33:28, while another Kyivite Semen Tereshchenko secured second place with 34:07, and Odesan Denys Polyakov took bronze with 35:08.
Among women in this distance, all podium spots were claimed by Kyiv residents. Champion Aнастасія Ігнаткіна, second place went to Надія Соміна, and third to Ірина Кротова.
The competition was organized by the Odesa Regional Triathlon Federation with support from the Odesa City Council.
