On September 27th, the inclusive beach at the 11th station of the Great Fountain in Odesa held its official closing ceremony for the summer season.

Since its reopening on July 1st after extensive renovations, over 25,000 individuals with disabilities and their companions have enjoyed the beach. Twelve trips for 300 people with limited mobility from Mykolaiv were organized. Mykolaiv City Council member Yuriy Stepanyets noted that Odesa has been providing drinking water to Mykolaiv since the onset of the full-scale invasion, and now offers people with disabilities freedom of movement and health benefits from the sea.

Odesa's mayor, Hennadiy Trukhanov, emphasized the city’s ambitious plans for developing inclusive recreational areas. He promised to create a specialized facility for veteran rowers.

“We are currently implementing three barrier-free routes in Odesa, in partnership with the Council for Barrier-Free Access and my advisor Oleksiy Morozov: the 'North-South' route with the Ministry of Development, a tourist route through the city center, and a wellness route focused on the sea, sun, adaptive sports, and community leisure,” — said Hennadiy Trukhanov.

The day was filled with heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this special area possible, ensuring its careful maintenance and quality service. Deputy Mayor and veteran of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhiy Kotsiuba, expressed that he will miss the weekly gatherings on the beach with his comrades and is eagerly awaiting the next season.

In the coming days, conservation measures will be undertaken to preserve the equipment and prepare for the new health season.
