To ensure road safety and effectively respond to winter weather conditions, the municipal enterprise «City Roads» in Odesa is implementing a series of measures.

Traditionally, at the end of November and beginning of December, the municipal services complete street cleaning and modify their equipment. They remove tanks from street washing machines and replace them with salt and sand spreaders.

Additionally, winter equipment is being installed, with most of the vehicles equipped with snow plows. All machinery undergoes inspection and preventive maintenance. After the preparation is complete, the equipment's performance will be tested on the company's premises.

The «City Roads» enterprise has at its disposal: snow removal machines, sand spreaders, graders, excavators, «Globus» snowplows, loaders, and combined road machines (KDM). Overall, during the 2025-2026 autumn-winter season, 104 units of equipment and 560 workers will be involved in snow removal and ice control operations.

As of December 4, the equipment is already modified and ready for winter conditions.

The enterprise is also preparing a sand-salt mixture for ice control. In case of worsening weather conditions, the enterprise is stocked with 10,363 tons of reagents for treating road surfaces.

The «City Roads» has developed 17 routes for snow removal vehicles to ensure quick clearing of roads from snowdrifts and ice. Additionally, 54 routes are designated for spreading reagents on streets to reduce danger on roads during icy conditions.

Since December 1, 2025, around-the-clock duty shifts have been traditionally initiated by the «City Roads» teams to respond promptly to worsening weather conditions. The duty rooms are prepared, and the personnel servicing the equipment are provided with winter clothing.
