The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadii Trukhanov, held a significant meeting with representatives of the Azerbaijani community.

They discussed the details of creating a new green space named after the friendly country — Azerbaijan.

The project encompasses over 2 hectares of recreational land at the 4th station of the Great Fountain.

Meeting participants reviewed the landscaping concept, implementation stages, and funding mechanisms. The project is charitable and draws inspiration from parks in Istanbul and Greece.

As noted by Jalil Astanov, head of the NGO “Odesa Azerbaijani Diaspora ‘Birlik’”, the future park will become a beautiful public space created with love for Odesa and Azerbaijan.

The Mayor assured full support for the project and emphasized that the idea of creating the ‘Azerbaijan’ park had been developing for a long time, but without community support, its realization would lose meaning.

“Today, we have reached complete understanding with the diaspora, and the commencement of the project signifies the unwavering faith of Odesans of all nationalities in Ukraine’s victory,” stated Hennadii Trukhanov.

After the meeting, the participants visited the park site at the 4th station of the Great Fountain, where they interacted with local residents. Agreement for collaboration in creating the park was also obtained from the construction company developing a nearby residential complex.
