We have sadly lost Colonel Oleksandr Yaičko, who served in the Southern Regional Office of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. The farewell ceremony took place in Odesa at the Officers' House.

According to the press service of the State Border Guard Service, family, friends, and colleagues attended the ceremony. The memorial service was conducted by military chaplains, and the burial took place in Ovidiopol at the local cemetery, with full military honors.

Oleksandr Mykolayovych led a dynamic life. He dedicated himself to the service of border protection, safeguarding the country's frontiers in the west, east, and south. As an instructor at a border guard institution, in 2014 he volunteered to go to the eastern border to defend Ukraine from aggression. While performing duties in the Mariupol area, he was captured but later returned to service. When the full-scale invasion began, he immediately expressed his desire to go to the eastern front, feeling that his presence was crucial there. Since January 2024, he was transferred to the Southern Regional Office, where he served until his passing.

Oleksandr faithfully dedicated his life to serving his homeland, carrying out his duty to protect it.
