According to the report, starting from 21:00 on Sunday, August 17, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using four "Iskander-M" ballistic missiles from the regions of Taganrog, Millerovo, Kursk, and 140 Shahed-type UAVs and various imitator drones from directions including Kursk, Orel, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF), and Chauda (temporarily occupied Crimea). The airstrike was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s defense forces. Preliminary data as of 09:00 on Monday, August 18, indicate that the air defense has shot down or suppressed 88 enemy Shahed drones and imitator drones across northern, southern, eastern, and central Ukraine. Hits by missiles and strike UAVs were recorded at 25 locations in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Kyiv regions.
