Retired Lieutenant General Mykola Petrovych Leifura has passed away at the age of 90, having dedicated his life to the service of his country. For the past two decades, he was a prominent figure in the veteran movement in Odessa.

Choosing a military career at a young age, Mykola Petrovych rose through the ranks from a tank platoon commander to the deputy commander of the Odessa military district. He received numerous awards, including orders for service to his homeland.

In his later years, Mykola Leifura led the city’s war veterans council, providing support and camaraderie to fellow servicemen and women.

His passing marks the end of an era, but the mission he championed for veterans will continue through the efforts of those he inspired.
