A new community space is set to be launched in Odessa to improve interaction between citizens and local authorities - the Odessa Community Hub.
This was announced by the city's mayor, Gennady Trukhanov, during an extraordinary Executive Committee meeting.
According to the mayor, this hub will be an inclusive place where community organizations can conduct their activities, hold meetings, and collaboratively implement projects aimed at enhancing living conditions for residents.
To facilitate this, a two-story building with a large basement on Uspenska Street has been transferred to the balance of the Municipal Youth Center of Odessa. The renovation work is planned to be carried out based on the project documents prepared by the relevant department.
«However, our proactive youth has stepped up. In December, the city won a grant from UNDP amounting to nearly $150,000 and will act as the client for the renovation works, which are to be completed by March 15, 2025,» the mayor stated.
The Executive Committee has decided to transfer the project documentation from the Department of Capital Construction to the Municipal Youth Center of Odessa. The mayor tasked the head of the construction department to assist the youth in implementing the «Odessa Community Hub» project.
