In order to ensure traffic safety and effective response to winter weather conditions, the municipal enterprise «City Roads» is implementing a number of new initiatives.

By November, street cleaning operations are wrapping up, and the equipment is being prepared for winter. Tanks are removed from the washing trucks and replaced with sand-salt spreaders.

Winter equipment is being installed, and most machinery is being fitted with snow plows. Additionally, all vehicles undergo inspections and preventive maintenance. After preparation, the special equipment will be tested on the company's premises.

The municipal enterprise «City Roads» has in its fleet: snow removal vehicles, sand spreaders, graders, excavators, snow-clearing machines «Globus», loaders, and other machinery. Overall, 104 units of equipment and 560 workers will be deployed in the winter season of 2024-2025 for snow removal and combating icy conditions. As of November 4, 37 units of equipment have already been refurbished and are ready for use. All preparations must be completed by the end of November this year.

The enterprise is also preparing a salt-sand mixture for anti-icing. In anticipation of worsening weather conditions, it is stocked with 11,860 tons of reagents to treat road surfaces.

The «City Roads» has developed 17 routes for snow-clearing equipment to ensure quick removal of snow drifts and ice. Additionally, 54 routes are designated for treating streets with reagents to reduce road hazards during icy conditions.

From December 1, 2024, around-the-clock shifts of the «City Roads» crews will traditionally commence to respond promptly to adverse weather conditions. The duty rooms are ready, and staff servicing the equipment are equipped with winter clothing.
