How to Protect Yourself from Scammers

Privatbank cardholders with the number 044 364 53 20 might receive calls from individuals claiming to be from the «Privatbank Security Service». They assert that «several suspicious transactions occurred within the last 20 minutes on your account to a country considered an aggressor».

The fraudsters urge victims to cancel these transactions and purchase insurance against fraud, pressuring them to comply with demands, including recording a voice message and «verifying» their card details.

To enhance their credibility, they provide a «personal number» that they claim can be found on the bank's website.

In this way, the criminals aim to obtain clients' personal information for subsequent illegal activities. Bank employees never ask for card numbers, PIN codes, or CVV codes.

Citizens are advised not to disclose personal information and avoid any financial transactions during calls from unknown individuals.

If you receive a call from scammers, you should contact the bank's call center and report the perpetrators. If you fall victim to fraud, it is advisable to reach out to the cyber police or other competent authorities.
