The Ukrainian government has approved a new funding plan for the acquisition of school buses in 2025, aiming to enhance transportation infrastructure for educational institutions.

The funds will be allocated to 10 regions that urgently require an upgrade of their bus fleet to ensure the transportation of students and teachers.

This initiative is crucial for ensuring quality and safe education for all children, regardless of their place of residence or regional conditions.

The subsidy will enable communities to purchase new buses, including those specially equipped for transporting children with special educational needs. Purchases will be made under co-financing conditions with local budgets through the Prozorro Market platform, significantly streamlining procedures.

The recipients of the buses include:

  • Dnipropetrovsk region
  • Zaporizhzhia region
  • Kirovohrad region
  • Mykolaiv region
  • Odesa region
  • Sumy region
  • Kharkiv region
  • Khmelnytskyi region
  • Cherkasy region
  • Chernihiv region

The total amount of the allocated subsidy is UAH 273.7 million.

This is part of a large government program, which allocates UAH 1.6 billion in 2025 for the purchase of over 500 buses for communities. Priority will be given to hub schools, military lyceums, institutions accepting students from other territories, and schools that have lost transportation due to the war. Since the beginning of the year, communities have already purchased 110 buses.
