Last week, a significant scientific conference titled “Rehabilitation and Healthy Living - 2025” took place in Odessa. This event was organized by the Rehabilitation Management Association in partnership with the Odessa National Medical University.
The conference focused on the current state of rehabilitation services in Odessa and Southern Ukraine. A major highlight was Odessa's experience in promoting adaptive sports for veterans, which includes participation in international competitions. The effectiveness of medical-psychological rehabilitation and the integration of Ukrainian defenders into society was emphasized.
Questions regarding the implementation of a patient-centered approach in rehabilitation care were discussed, exemplified by the City Clinical Hospital No. 10. Specialists from City Hospital No. 8 shared their experience in integrating rehabilitation infrastructure into natural settings, utilizing training areas that replicate both natural and urban environments.
Odessa possesses a robust medical and recreational potential for developing a comprehensive rehabilitation system in Southern Ukraine.
