Children's Day in Ukraine will now be celebrated annually on November 20, aligning with Universal Children's Day.
This order No. 355/2025 “On Children's Day” was signed by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, on Friday, May 30.
The document contains significant information.
Date of Children's Day Celebration
“In order to affirm the protection of childhood as a national priority, and to unite the efforts of the international community aimed at safeguarding children's rights, I decree: Establish in Ukraine Children's Day, to be celebrated annually on Universal Children's Day – November 20”, – states the decree.
This decree nullifies the previous decree of the President of Ukraine from May 30, 1998, No. 568/98 “On Children's Day”, which had the celebration on June 1.
Officials from the President's Office explained that this move synchronizes Ukraine's celebration of Children's Day with the international observance on November 20, aiming to enhance attention to children's rights at both national and international levels.
