Recently, a devastating wildfire broke out in a unique steppe area on the western shore of Khadzhider Estuary, within the 'Tuzly Estuaries' National Nature Park.
This was reported by park employee, Dr. Ivan Rusev, a biologist.
“Numerous insects, bird nests, lizards, and ant hills were lost in this disaster,” the scientist wrote.
The total area affected by the fire exceeded 5 hectares.
Currently, the national park's conservation service is investigating the circumstances surrounding the wildfire and assessing the damage to the natural reserve.
On the park's official page, it was noted that wildfires in the area have increased recently, leading to dreadful and sometimes fatal outcomes.
