The employees of the municipal enterprise «Green City» are actively engaged in the removal of tree stumps throughout Odessa.

Since the beginning of the year, the specialists have successfully removed over 600 stumps, including 120 in the Preobrazhensky Park and another 56 on Prince Volodymyr the Great Avenue as part of the «Barrier-Free Odessa» initiative.

Currently, work is ongoing on Kanatna Street, where 34 out of the planned 51 stumps have already been removed this week.

The Odessa City Council asks residents and visitors not to park their cars near the work sites to avoid hindering the specialized equipment.

Stump removal is quite a challenging task. Previously, the municipal workers lacked the necessary equipment, which complicated their efforts.

With new machinery, such as the Rotor Speedy 80/100 stump grinder, the time required for these operations has significantly decreased: removing a 70 cm diameter stump now takes only 40 minutes.

A total of 852 stumps are planned for removal in the central part of the city, with new young trees such as maples, ashes, acacias, and others to be planted in their places.

The work is carried out using new technology that ensures speed and quality in stump removal operations.
