A woman faces up to six years in prison for misuse of her office.
According to police reports, the woman, previously the head of one of the departments of the Dobroslav village council, entered into an agreement with a private contractor to create documentation for the capital repair of a kindergarten roof at inflated prices.
Despite the absence of budget allocations for repairs, she managed to secure funding from the reserve fund, citing the effects of a natural disaster. The services were procured without proper contracts or tenders.
As a result of the contract signed with a private firm, the budget of the Dobroslav village council suffered damages amounting to UAH 957,632.16, as confirmed by an economic expertise report.
During the investigation, the court placed the woman under house arrest and she was removed from her position.
The investigators charged her under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for misuse of office leading to severe consequences.
The indictment has been sent to court, and the Dobroslav District Prosecutor's Office will support the prosecution.
The offender faces up to six years of imprisonment, along with a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in specific activities for up to three years, and fines ranging from UAH 8,500 to UAH 17,000.
