A fire broke out in a nine-storey residential building in Odesa. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, but the tenant of the apartment where the fire started sustained injuries. This was reported by the State Emergency Service.

The incident took place in the Peresyp district. On Akademika Zabolotnoho Street, personal belongings were engulfed in flames on the top floor of the nine-storey building. The rescue teams acted promptly to control the fire.

"Unfortunately, as a result of the fire, a resident born in 2003 suffered burns to his face and hands and was hospitalized in moderate condition. The cause of the fire and damage are currently being investigated. Four units of equipment and 12 firefighters were deployed by the State Emergency Service," the statement reads.
