In Odesa, the Municipal Enterprise «City Roads» manages 1012 various public transport stops. Among them, there are 7 stops known as «Belgian stops» that have been around for over a century.
Daily, these stops face acts of vandalism: unknown individuals leave graffiti, break benches, and trash the bins, as well as shatter the glass elements of the stops. Damage also occurs due to traffic accidents and hostile actions.
The enterprise's specialists regularly perform sanitation of the adjacent areas, repair the bins and benches, and also wash and paint the pavilions.
This month, the municipal workers restored a historic Belgian stop on 15th St. Fontanska Road, which is frequently targeted by vandals.
Since the beginning of 2025, 80 public transport stops have been painted, and 99 bins have been repaired and installed.
The Odesa city council once again urges residents and visitors to treat municipal property with care. Deliberate damage to city property is punishable by law.
