On July 1, 2025, an inclusive beach was inaugurated at the 11th station of the Great Fountain, marking a significant milestone for Odessa. This opening provides access for veterans, disabled individuals, and other mobility-impaired groups, representing a crucial step towards improved accessibility.
This beach exemplifies how spaces can evolve for people. This was noted by Tatiana Lomakina, Advisor to the President of Ukraine on Barrier-Free Policies, following her visit to Odessa. She praised the city's efforts in establishing the inclusive beach at the 11th station of the Great Fountain, emphasizing that the construction process was closely monitored for compliance with accessibility standards.
“Step by step, the coastline is becoming a barrier-free space. The beach is rarely empty; it attracts both visitors and locals,” said the President's Advisor on Barrier-Free Policies.
