On September 24, the Odessa City Council session decided to rename the following:

  • Chapayev Street is now Vyacheslav Kyrylov Street (Peresyp District),
  • Sredny Street has been renamed to Oleksandr Svisht Street (Khadyzhibey District).

Additionally, the park at the corner of Fontanskaya Road and Lesya Ukrainka Avenue has been named “Lesya Ukrainka Park” (Primorsky District).

The renaming of these entities was recommended by the historical-toponymic commission of the Odessa City Council and underwent an electronic public discussion.

Appropriate changes have been made to the decision of the Odessa City Council dated November 9, 2005, No. 4858-IV “On the Naming of Streets, Alleys, Avenues, Squares, Parks, Squares, Bridges, and Other Structures Located in the City of Odessa”.
