In the Peresyp district of Odesa, on Heroes of Defense Street, the construction of a new well complex with an artesian well has been completed.
This well will serve as a second source of clean drinking water for the densely populated area. Plans are also in place to build two more wells in different parts of the city.
The new complex features a technical building housing staff facilities, a pumping station, ventilation and air conditioning systems, fire alarms, and a diesel generator to ensure uninterrupted operation.
The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, emphasized that this is not just a technical facility, but a guarantee of safety and care for the residents. The importance of having backup water sources became evident during supply disruptions caused by military actions.
The artesian well in the new complex reaches a depth of over 115 meters and can provide 3-4 cubic meters of water per hour. The water undergoes a thorough purification process, including aeration, mechanical filtration, reverse osmosis, and ozonation.
This process ensures that the water meets all hygiene standards for drinking, as confirmed by laboratory tests conducted by the Ukrainian Scientific Research Institute of Transport Medicine.
Currently, there are 17 wells operating in various districts of Odesa.
