Today, October 1st, Ukraine honors Defenders Day. This day is dedicated to all who have fought and continue to fight for freedom and independence, as well as to celebrating the bravery of modern soldiers, veterans, and volunteers safeguarding our land.

Odesa's mayor, Gennady Trukhanov, extended his greetings for this occasion:

«Dear defenders! From the entire Odesa community, from every family and heart, we express our gratitude for your courage. You are the guardians who keep the light in our windows. You are the ones who help us not to succumb to fear. Thanks to you, we have hope for the future. We do not just say thank you; we actively support you: we work, volunteer, and pray. We are not just waiting — we are building the country you will return to victorious. May every «thank you» strengthen you. May the smiles of children and peaceful mornings be proof of your meaningful struggle. May God protect Ukraine!»
