The Odessa Church has become a venue for a unique art exhibition titled ‘Blood and Life’, featuring paintings, posters, and experimental art objects.
This exhibition creatively reinterprets the concept of blood donation and was organized in collaboration with the ‘Donor Odessa’ project, involving faculty and students from the graphic arts department of the South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University.
The central theme revolves around love for one’s neighbor and saving lives through blood sharing, resonating deeply with Christian values.
A striking mural above the altar symbolizes the blood of Jesus Christ, uniting all who partake in communion.
«Donors exchange blood regardless of nationality or faith. We aim to showcase our unity and willingness to help one another,» emphasized Pastor Alexander Gross at the exhibition opening.
During the opening, students and faculty who contributed significantly to the exhibition were awarded diplomas and gifts.
Artists including Dmitry Velichko and Anna Nosenko collectively created over 40 works that highlight the beauty of donation and inspire participation in saving lives.
This marks the first exhibition of 3D art objects on the theme of blood donation to be held in a cathedral.
The exhibition will be open to visitors for the next month.
