The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadii Trukhanov, held a meeting concerning the damaged architectural heritage sites in the UNESCO zone and engaged with local residents.
Recently, a UNESCO mission visited Odesa to assess the impact of the Russian aggression on World Heritage sites.
Currently, urgent measures are being taken to restore the integrity of roofs, except for the severely damaged sections where the upper floors are nearly destroyed.
In these areas, structural damage to the buildings is being assessed. More extensive work will be required to address these issues, necessitating approval from the relevant cultural heritage authorities.
During the meeting with Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development Vasyl Shkurakov, the mayor raised concerns about legislative gaps that hinder residents of heritage buildings from receiving compensation under the eRecovery program.
