A recent meeting took place in Odesa with a delegation from SECI, led by Executive Coordinator Mr. Michael Fatekas. The delegation brought humanitarian supplies for the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions, including generators, computers, and medical equipment.
Mr. Fatekas emphasized that, as promised in previous discussions, preparations are underway for humanitarian assistance specifically for Odesa.
During the dialogue, urgent needs of the city and potential challenges were discussed, particularly regarding the heating season.
“I appreciate the support for southern communities and our productive meeting. The military has tasks at the front, and we support them fully. However, here on the ground, their families and displaced persons remain. We must ensure the city's functionality,” said Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov.
Additional energy sources, such as solid fuel boilers, could provide critical support for Odesa. Currently, the city has 8 of these facilities in reserve, but considering various scenarios of enemy attacks on critical infrastructure, the city council is discussing the potential increase of these facilities to ensure uninterrupted operation of social infrastructure.
“We will return to you very soon,” assured Mr. Michael Fatekas.
