On the evening of February 11th, a tragic car accident occurred in Odessa on Ivan Funtovyi Street. A 29-year-old driver lost control of his «Toyota» and crashed into a power pole. Unfortunately, a 31-year-old passenger lost his life, while the driver was hospitalized with injuries.

According to Dmitro Slyuta, head of the transport crime investigation department, it has been preliminarily established that the driver failed to manage the vehicle. Sadly, the passenger succumbed to his injuries. The driver was tested for intoxication and was found to be sober.

The investigators have registered the incident in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Several forensic examinations are underway to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
