Military Instructor Arrested in Odesa Region
On February 21, the Odesa police reported the arrest of an instructor from one of the territorial recruitment centers.
It was established that the suspect demanded 50,000 hryvnias from a man he was assisting with military registration documents.
"For this amount, he promised to influence military officials to issue documents for deferral from conscription during mobilization", — the statement reads.
Later, the amount was reduced to 20,000 hryvnias, and the military was arrested after receiving this sum. The money was seized as evidence.
The prosecutor's office noted that the military instructor took the man's passport to ensure he would receive the funds:
"In January 2025, the suspect offered his 'help' again, lowering the amount to 20,000 hryvnias. The citizen reported this to the police and acted under their guidance".
The arrest took place on February 19. The man was charged under part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which carries a penalty of up to eight years in prison with confiscation of property. The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is currently being resolved.
