The Odessa regional prosecutor's office has initiated criminal proceedings against the founder of a construction firm suspected of using counterfeit documents to seize land (Part 2 of Article 28, Parts 3, 4 of Article 358, Part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the suspects devised an illegal scheme to take over a 1-hectare land plot belonging to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, represented by the Odessa State Environmental University.
To execute their criminal plan, they utilized forged documents, entered false information into registries, falsified technical documentation, and engaged fictitious individuals.
As a result of their actions, the suspects unlawfully seized land located on Muscatna Street in Odessa, which they intended to sell for profit.
The damage caused to the state is estimated to exceed 19 million hryvnias.
It is worth noting that the damages have been fully compensated by revoking the ownership rights to the specified land plot.
The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspects is currently under consideration, and other participants in the illegal scheme are being identified.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by detectives of the Odesa region police department No. 1, with operational support from the Criminal Investigation Department of Ukraine's National Police in the Odessa region.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
