Law enforcement officers in Izmail apprehended a 39-year-old man who attempted to sell dangerous explosive items. He was caught during the sale of two F-1 grenades for 5 thousand hryvnias. This was reported by the police.

Operatives received information that the individual was looking for a buyer for the ammunition. During the documentation of the crime, police recorded the transfer of grenades near the railway station. The suspect had explosives and detonators seized, which were sent for examination, along with the money received from the sale.

The arrested individual explained that the grenades had come from a deceased relative, and he decided to sell them. He was charged under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal handling of explosive devices), which carries a penalty of up to seven years in prison. The court chose to keep him in custody as a preventive measure.

"Law enforcement reminds that voluntary surrender of weapons and ammunition exempts one from criminal liability" - the statement says.
