A man is under suspicion for committing several crimes related to the illegal production and sale of firearms.
Law enforcement officials in the Odessa region, in cooperation with the SBU, conducted operations to uncover the criminal activities.
The 42-year-old resident of Odessa set up a workshop in his garage for weapon modifications. He ordered components online and altered them himself, turning them into firearms for sale.
Authorities documented the sale of modified firearms totaling 39,000 UAH. The suspect was arrested while attempting to deliver another batch of weapons.
Investigators conducted 10 searches at various locations related to the suspect, where they seized evidence, including weapon models, ammunition, and equipment for manufacturing.
They also confiscated money likely obtained from illegal weapon sales. Police will continue to investigate their origin.
The suspect has been charged with illegal modification and storage of firearms. The court has placed him under detention with a bail option of 908,400 UAH.
The maximum penalty he faces is seven years of imprisonment.
Investigations are ongoing under the supervision of the prosecutor's office.
