A 48-year-old man was apprehended in Lyubashivka for illegally crafting a sawed-off shotgun. The weapon and ammunition were discovered at a scrap metal collection point. Law enforcement has initiated criminal proceedings that could lead to a seven-year prison sentence.

Following a tip-off, police conducted a search at the man's residence. In his garage, they found the sawed-off shotgun and 93 rounds of various calibers, which were sent for forensic examination.

The man claims he found the gun parts at a scrap yard and assembled them at home, shortening the barrel to create a non-standard firearm capable of firing. Forensic experts confirmed that this device is indeed a firearm capable of discharging rounds.

He is being charged with the illegal manufacturing and possession of firearms without the necessary permits. Under these articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, he faces up to seven years of imprisonment. The preliminary investigation is complete, and the case has been forwarded to court.
