Today, April 28, 2025, a tragic traffic accident took place on the M-14 highway between Odessa and Mykolaiv within the village of Vyzirka.

Dmitry Slyuta, head of the transportation crime investigation department at the Odessa Regional Police, stated that preliminary findings indicate that a female driver of a «Toyota» caused a collision while overtaking, involving two other cars and a truck.

As a result of the accident, one car driver lost his life. Two other drivers and one passenger were taken to the hospital with various injuries.

The investigative team from the Odessa police, patrol police, and the department from police station No. 3 were on-site.

Investigators have entered details into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding violations of traffic safety rules that resulted in death.

A series of expert examinations will be conducted as part of the proceedings to establish the full circumstances of the accident.

The police once again urge drivers to strictly adhere to traffic rules, be cautious, and pay close attention to road conditions.
