On August 31, the Odesa Grand Prix cycling competition took place, marking a significant event in the city’s sporting calendar. 

This year’s event attracted cycling enthusiasts from Moldova, Mykolaiv, Lviv, Nemyriv, and Zaporizhzhia, eager to participate in the thrilling races. 

The second day featured the Odesa sprint championship, known for its fierce competition and youthful energy. 

Among the winners in various age categories were local athletes: Oleg Ivankov (Atlet CG), Andriy Pyrkh, Yuriy Anderson, Yuriy Smirnov, Andriy Hladkyi, Andriy Shvets, Serhiy Lychko, Hryhoriy Bayrak, Mykola Vakhrameiev, Vladyslav Salnikov, Yuriy Smirnov (Project 13), and Hryhoriy Savenko.

The inaugural Odesa Grand Prix was held in 1995 under a cup system. By 2007, it became a national event, and from 2015 to 2019, it was recognized internationally with a UCI second category status.
