Odesa is seeing significant advancements in adaptive sports, which play a vital role in the rehabilitation efforts for veterans of the Ukrainian military.

With the involvement of sports and community organizations dedicated to individuals with disabilities, various sports are being integrated into the rehabilitation program, including wheelchair basketball, table tennis, billiards, golf, swimming, diving, and boxing.

Engagement in sports and integration into the athletic community aid veterans in adjusting to everyday life.

For instance, Ukrainian Armed Forces veterans Dmytro Danilov, Serhii Kotsyuba, and Valerii Chuhuiev are members of the national billiards team for athletes with disabilities and will participate in the WPA Heyball Parasport World Championship - 2024 in Los Angeles.

The training of Odesa athletes has been made possible with the support of the rehabilitation department of the Odesa City Council's Health Department.
