The Ukrainian Judo Championship for junior cadets under 17 years old took place on November 22-23 in Uzhhorod.

Over two days, nearly 600 athletes from 23 regions of Ukraine competed on the tatami at the Uzhhorod Scientific Lyceum sports complex, contending for 17 sets of medals.

In the overall team standings, the team from Odesa, which included athletes from the Complex Children's and Youth Sports Schools No. 4 and No. 15, along with the regional Judo and Rugby Youth Sports School and local clubs, secured third place with 3 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals.

The champions of the event were representatives from Kyiv (5-4-4), followed by the team from Dnipropetrovsk region in second place (3-1-5).

Contributions to the team score came from Odesa athletes Valeria Kanikovska (70 kg) and Kyrylo Vasylynich (73 kg), who won silver and bronze medals, respectively.

The athletes were trained by coach Serhiy Yermakov.
