From November 27 to 30, the World Karate Championship took place in Cairo, Egypt, featuring 384 athletes (192 men and women) from 88 countries.

Ukrainian karate legend Angelika Terlyuga excelled at the championship, securing a bronze medal in the under 55 kg category.

After losing in the quarterfinals to Egyptian athlete Ahlam Youssef (3:8), Angelika had the opportunity to compete for bronze since her opponent reached the finals. She defeated Valentina Toro Meneses from Chile (ranked No. 2 in the WKF world ranking) with a score of 6:4, showcasing her skill, determination, and unwavering spirit.

This year, following the birth of her child, Angelika proved her high caliber by winning a silver medal at the World Games in Chengdu, China.
