On February 26, 2025, a significant meeting took place at the Odesa City Council, attended by representatives from the Department of Health, the Southern Interregional Department of the NHIF, and local medical institutions.
Denys Chornyi, head of the Southern Interregional Department of the NHIF, emphasized that Odesa region leads in Ukraine in terms of submitted proposals and signed agreements within the medical guarantee program.
During the meeting, current funding for the medical guarantee program was reviewed, new service packages were analyzed, and changes in funding for ongoing initiatives were discussed. This year, the basic tariff for primary healthcare services increased from 786.65 UAH to 844.4 UAH. Special attention was given to patients who had not sought medical assistance for three years, with an analysis provided across medical institutions.
New algorithms for the operation of expert teams, which replaced the MSEC, were also discussed. The meeting focused on mental health services at both inpatient and outpatient levels, as well as community services. New directions for providing extended medical care to veterans and enhancing the government’s reimbursement program for medications “Affordable Medicines” were presented.
“For three years, Ukraine has faced challenging times, and throughout this period, the NHIF funding for medical services has been continuous and timely. This has ensured the stable operation of the city’s healthcare system, guaranteed patients quality medical assistance, and continued the development and modernization of medical facilities. We thank the NHIF for their reliable partnership,” said Levon Nikogosyan, director of the City Department of Health.
