Igor Poklad passed away at the age of 84.

This was announced by his wife, Svitlana Poklad, on Facebook.

"This is it... I loved, love, and will always love... Please pray for Igor Dmytrovych... For his immortal soul..." - she wrote.

Igor Poklad was a Ukrainian composer and opera master, a Hero of Ukraine, a laureate of the Shevchenko Prize, an Honored Artist of Ukraine, a People's Artist of the USSR, a People's Artist of Ukraine, and a member of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine.

He is known for his songs such as "Beloved", "Two Wings", "Magic Violin", "Wild Geese", and many others.

In August 2024, President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded Igor Poklad the title of "National Legend of Ukraine".
