Odessa-based artist Stepan Ryabchenko has been honored with membership in the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine. This milestone is significant not only for him but for the cultural community of Odessa as well.
His inclusion in the Academy signifies a recognition of digital art as an essential part of the contemporary artistic landscape.
Born in 1987, Stepan represents a new generation of artists blending digital art, conceptual architecture, sculpture, and photography in pursuit of innovative visual expressions.
His works create unique realms where fantastical creatures, metaphysical landscapes, and virtual architecture converge, blurring the lines between the real and the imagined.
Ryabchenko's art has been showcased in numerous prominent institutions, including the National Art Museum of Ukraine and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Odessa.
He has received various accolades underscoring his impact on contemporary art. In 2021, he was recognized as one of the 15 best digital artists in the world by Electric Artefacts. His awards include the “Art-Act” prize (2010) and winning a competition to create a sculptural symbol for Odessa International Airport (2019).
