In the Odesa region, a farewell was held for Captain Vladislav Ilchuk, who lost his life on the front lines on February 22, 2025. The Bolhrad City Council emphasized that he took up arms to defend his homeland from the first days of the full-scale invasion.
Today, March 2, in the village of Tabaky, the farewell ceremony for the commander of the mechanized battalion, Vladislav Ilchuk, took place. Before the war, he lived with his family in Bakhmut, Donetsk region. He stood up to defend his country from the beginning of the war, but his family was forced to relocate to the Odesa region after their hometown was destroyed by Russian forces.
"After heavy fighting in Bakhmut, the officer's family had to leave their hometown and move to the Bolhrad community. Here, they tried to build a new life, hoping for peace and the return of their hero. However, the enemy shattered these hopes, leaving the family without a husband, son, and father.
The body of the fallen defender was carried through a living corridor formed by community residents to honor Vladislav's bravery. At the cemetery, where he found his eternal rest alongside other fallen soldiers, his widow was presented with the national flag of Ukraine as a symbol of gratitude and remembrance", - emphasized in the Bolhrad community.
