Kryvyi Rih Attack: What We Know About the Victims
The missile strike on Friday evening resulted in the deaths of 18 individuals, including 9 children.
“Three-year-old Tymofiy sadly passed away today (April 5 - ed.) in the hospital. Seven-year-old Radyslav. Arina, who is forever 7. Nine-year-old Herman. Fifteen-year-olds Danylo, Mykyta, Alina. Sixteen-year-old Kostyantyn. Seventeen-year-old Nikita,” President Volodymyr Zelensky named the victims.
Currently, 75 people are known to be injured.
37 individuals remain hospitalized, with 19 in critical condition.
The occupiers struck Kryvyi Rih on Friday evening with an Iskander ballistic missile armed with cluster munitions, hitting the center of a residential area where a playground, café, and homes are located.
A few hours later, Russian forces attacked the city again using drones.
One person was killed, and seven others were injured.
Zelensky Called for Pressure on Russia
In his evening address, President Volodymyr Zelensky urged the world to put pressure on Russia.
“Russia must be held accountable for everything that has happened; we need to pressure them – truly pressure them, without wasting time on empty conversations – to end this war,” the president stated.
President Zelensky, who criticized the U.S. the day before for its “weak” stance regarding the missile strike on Kryvyi Rih, called for not remaining silent about Russian crimes.
“Concealing that it is Russia killing children with ballistic missiles is wrong and dangerous. It only encourages the scoundrels in Moscow to continue the war and to further ignore diplomacy. Weakness has never ended a war. Therefore, I am grateful to every country whose representatives have spoken out: leaders, foreign ministers, embassies,” the president noted.
