Ukraine has successfully repatriated 909 bodies of Ukrainian soldiers who died in different conflict zones.

This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

Details of the return of fallen soldiers' bodies

The bodies of warriors were returned from the following regions:

  • Kurakhivskyi
  • Pokrovskyi
  • Bakhmutskyi
  • Vuhledarskyi
  • Luhanskyi
  • Zaporizhzhia
  • Sumy
  • Kharkivskii.

Additionally, bodies were returned from morgues located in Russia.

The repatriation was carried out with the support of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Ministry of Reintegration, and other state bodies, as well as international organizations.

The bodies will be transported to designated institutions, where law enforcement and forensic experts will identify the deceased.

Afterward, the bodies of the fallen defenders of Ukraine will be handed over to their relatives for burial.

Previous repatriation efforts - what is known

On March 28, 909 bodies of fallen Ukrainian soldiers were successfully returned.

On February 14, Ukraine repatriated 757 bodies of fallen soldiers.

On January 24, 757 bodies of Ukrainian soldiers were returned.

On December 20, Ukraine returned 503 bodies of soldiers.

On November 29, 502 bodies of military personnel were repatriated.

On November 8, 563 bodies of Ukrainian soldiers were returned.

On October 18, Ukraine repatriated 501 bodies of soldiers.

On August 2, 250 bodies of fallen soldiers from various regions were returned.

On June 14, 254 fallen defenders' bodies were returned to Ukraine, which will be handed over to families after identification.
